I recently completed Blackthorn and Grim and I noticed a few nods to Sevenwaters. Out of curiosity: How many years have passed since the events of Sevenwaters? Thank you for your time.

Hi Kate, and thanks for the question. This is a tricky one, as I have to stretch real history a bit to make everything work! We do have a return to Swan Island (Inis Eala in the Sevenwaters books) in the Warrior Bards series, which is one generation on from Blackthorn & Grim. B&G would be at least two generations on from Sevenwaters, perhaps a bit longer. 50 years plus. I have often wondered whether Ciaran, being half-fey, might still be alive.

With the trend to films and TV series such as Harry Potter, The Game of Thrones and The Vikings have you considered or has anyone shown interest in making your books into a TV series? I was really thrilled to learn you live in Guildford, possibly not far from where I work - a near brush with fame! Keep up the great work Cynthia x

I have been such a fan of yours, I was really disappointed to hear that publishers were not excited about your recent suggestions. Would you ever consider some sort of self publishing since you have such a keen fanbase? There were a few series that the publishers didn't continue like Wildwood that I wonder if you might want to continue if you had freedom to write whatever you liked and knew it could be published?
