Hello, Ahren, and thank you for your question. I first fell in love with Paris by reading Hemingway's A Moveable Feast. His reminiscences provided the engine for my obsession, and fueled my writing of The Paris Wife, though I wasn't actually able to afford to go to Paris until long after the book was finished! Hello Paula, I just saw you Authors In April. I was so engrossed your in story and I just loved The Paris Wife but my favorite was Circling the Sun (I've read it twice). I don't really have a question but a thought. Back in that era if a man or a woman was truly unhappy the sometimes took left their respective families to start anew. Have you ever thought about a story like that? How do you pick your subjects?

I've just read The Paris Wife and loved it. I am interested to know how easy or difficult it was for you to slip yourself so completely into Hadley's shoes ... the voice you created for her was entirely convincing, I totally believed it was Hadley who was speaking to me throughout. Did you study very carefully things Hadley herself had written in order to capture her voice? Or was it more yr imagination?
