Jennifer asked Scott Hildreth:

You've made it common knowledge that you don't watch TV… Why? Do you, as an author, think the media has become a negative in our cognitive thinking?

Scott Hildreth I haven't had television in 8 years. To me, television is a time suck, and it provides me nothing. I explained it somewhat with the character Marc in Broken People.

If the news made statements about the good in this world, I'd watch it. They don't. They only focus on the bad.

So, I choose to listen to music and communicate with people for entertainment. I feel it makes my life richer. I can't interact with a television.
