I'm curious about your background: any military experience? Or do you just have an affinity for military-based characters? Keep in mind, please, that Mythical is the only book of yours that I've read so far. Your work is a new discovery.

C.E. Martin I served in the USAF, from 1990-1994 as a law enforcement specialist with the Security Police. In high school, I had taken 4 years of JROTC with the intention of going to college then becoming a career officer in the Army. But, I dropped out of college, bummed around for a few years then enlisted in the USAF. I like to write military characters as they are either misrepresented or under represented in fiction so often.
