I get emotional about an event, state of affairs, wrongs done to individuals and communities and channel my sadness, frustration, and anger into writing. Once I see a story is being to emerge then the hard work of shaping and editing takes place so that it's not a container for my feelings but an opportunity for the reader to experience their own emotions.
