My 12 and 13 year old daughters loves all of Christopher Paolini's books. Would it be okay for them to read this one, or is it too adult?

If you are comparing it to the Aragon series, it would be different to idea of space mortality. If your children enjoy watching the Aliens movie series, this would compliment them nicely. Not my first recommendation to Middle Ages especially if they need a sense of dedication to the length along. (less)
