Jesse asked Wayne Thomas Batson:

If you could meet with any author ever, who would it be?

Wayne Thomas Batson You know, my immediate, reflexive answer is Tolkien. I'd have never become a fantasy author if it weren't for his epic works. The odd feeling I have is that we might not have that much to talk about, being from different generations, etc. If half of what I've read about him is true, I feel like Tolkien would almost be above me, like his high elves being higher than the more common races. CS Lewis is another one I'd have loved to meet and talk. His apologetics work has always fascinated me, and I'd love to throw some arguments at him just to hear his incredible logic. For modern authors I might actually be able to meet, I'd like to have a beer with Jim Butcher. I believe his personality comes shining through his Dresden Files books, and I think we'd get along well.
