Ideally, you should read the Twilight first. I feel like you would appreciate Midnight Sun a lot more. However this is just another perspective of Twilight. If you read this it wouldn't spoil the next three books, so you could read Twilight first, Midnight Sun, and then the next 3. Midnight Sun is like book 1.5. As well, if you have yet to read New Moon, I find I appreciate that book a lot more (and Edward's character more) after reading Midnight Sun.
