Great question. Always been interested in soft sci-fi, particularly everyman stories. One day the thought popped into my head - what if one day a group of unsuspecting Coast Guard people suddenly got "dropped in it." I mean hurricanes and drug smugglers are one thing, but aliens? It almost wrote itself.

I'm a U.S. Coast Guard veteran from some time ago, but a brand new author of a novel. No surprise therefore that the Coast Guard is a significant part of my book. I am happy to discover another author, yourself, with a Coast Guard background. I'm wondering if you have also found it difficult to find any novels where the Coast Guard plays a major role. Why do you think that's the case?
