I’ll tell you the same thing my fourth grade teacher told me: Read, Read, READ! Read all kinds of genres and a variety or authors. It will increase your vocabulary, teach you about story structure, and make you a more interesting person who will have more interesting things to say when you’re at a party and people ask what you do and you don’t want to tell them you are an out of work author.
