Goodreads asked C.G. Twiles:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

C.G. Twiles The idea for THE NEIGHBORS IN APARTMENT 3D came to me when I left my apartment one day and saw a sign on my neighbors' door, written in a childish scrawl, that said "I'm poisoned." The notion flashed through my head for the briefest of seconds: What if it was true? What if the child next door WAS poisoned? I mean, was I really going to call police on such flimsy evidence and risk being wrong and having my entire building despise me? Of course not. Like most of us, I assumed the kid was just writing play notes. But but but... what if? What if... it was real?

I thought it was quite a dilemma for a person to be in. And then I wanted to make it even more of a dilemma. What if my protagonist was a compulsive liar, and so her word wasn't going to be good enough for anyone?

So that's how I got the idea. And yes, the kid next door is fine.
