We Were Liars is a very amazing book,and I just want to know, how long did it take you to write it? I mean, it must have been challenging going from kinda light stuff to a suspense novel. Btw, hello from the Philippines! :)

E. Lockhart Hello! It took a year and a half to write We Were Liars. And it's not a long book! It was very heavily rewritten, many times. When the writing was hardest -- those days I wrote the funny bits. Humor comes more naturally to me.
