What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Anthony Barbera Wow. I'm not sure about this question. It's not the adulation, that's for sure. I think it's learning new things. Going to worlds of discovery that you didn't know about. Every book, in my opinion, should lead me to new understanding of a subject. Whether it's how a character thinks about the world, or, space flight mechanics, disease, the Amazon, or ancient Israel in time of war. That's why I write in multiple genres. Not just to expand my abilities as a writer, but because I'm writing out of a sense of wonder.
