Goodreads asked Larry Rhoton:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Larry Rhoton I’ve always wanted to write a detective fiction novel. My main character, Detective Allen Boggs, just came to me one night as I sat thinking about this book. I liked the name Boggs, as everyone calls this detective by his last name, it sounded good.
As I wrote the novel, I put myself in the detective’s shoes, searching every nook and cranny for clues leaving no stone unturned.
Then I put myself in the shoes of the adversary, I wanted to commit the crime, but not get caught. Is it the perfect crime, pretty much?
The challenge as a criminal was how to stay one step ahead of Detective Boggs and his friends. Sometimes, the obvious isn’t so obvious, or maybe it is.
