The entire Annie Crow Knoll series was inspired by a location on the Chesapeake Bay that is near and dear to my heart. Fifteen years ago, my husband and I began renting a cottage in a community of cottages nestled on the Sassafras River at the headwaters of the bay. That first summer, scenes from second book in the series began coming to me. At the time, I didn't know that it would be a trilogy. The natural beauty, the history, the artists, the cottagers, the town, the birds, and the activities people pursue there all contributed to my fictional ideas.

Gail, I'm having trouble trying to download that free copy of Sunrise you said was available at your book launch. Is it because I don't have a kindle? I read Moonrise through a kindle app I have on my laptop. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. Do you have a direct link? Thanks for all you do to help your fellow writer.
