Hello to a fellow NC transplant from the snow and cold (I’m from MA!) I loved the BGLT+ representation in the Tarot Sequence; the Atlantean attitude toward sexuality made this bisexual, fantasy-loving nerd very happy. Will we get to see more of your female and gender non-conforming characters in upcoming installments? I adored “Scenes from Quarantine” though now I’m itching for the next book!

(Oh, but we pay for that lack of snow during weeks like this, don't we? NC in summer is no joke.)
YES!!!! I've kind of fallen in love with Layne, in particular. I cannot wait to share a little more of their journey in TAROT 3. I think the reason I'm so drawn to them is that they're recovering from a horrible event, and they're channeling their survival into doing good. Layne has become one of the few unconflicted characters in my story -- they just want to be happy and do good things.
As for female characters, Lady Death is here to stay. She will be a strong secondary character for the rest of the series. And she will have a huge presence in TAROT 3, which has a 2-chapter arc set at her compound in New Atlantis.
I also intend to make Corinne a more prominent character; and Anna is becoming one of my favorite secondary characters. I absolutely plan to split her, Max and Quinn off into separate stories someday.
Reader feedback is SO DAMN IMPORTANT to me. And questions like this just reinforce adding more diversity to my story. SO THANK YOU!
Cheers,
KD

Thank you for answering! Name Rurik is very meaningful in Russian history, he was the founder of the ruling Rurik dynasty in old Russia. Since there is a Russian family involved, I assumed there was some significance to him in that aspect. What a coincidence! :D So glad to hear about Brand! I absolutely adore him; his banter reminds me of Rocket from the Guardians of the Galaxy a bit X) ?

so I just finished THM yesterday, and I loved it more than I can tell you, thank you so much for sharing it with us. one thing that won't leave me alone, and I'll try to be as non-spoilery as I can be: at the end, we learn that the Big Bad was put to rest, but somebody else lost their life in that final battle as well. did they finally find peace, and will they be buried with their comrades? /wrings hands anxiously

Not a question, but I'm not on social media so I thought this might be the best way to tell you- I recently got a job at my local indie bookstore and today they gave me the option of ordering books I think we should be carrying... Guess who was on the top of the list? I'm so excited to be able to tell my community about how great your books are!
