My favorite scene to write was probably the scene where they try out the water filter at Nature Club. Gross, but fun! But I also really enjoyed writing the backmatter of the book. It gave me a chance to talk about science and my research.

I loved The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl. When Lucy met her friend Windy for the first time I thought what a cool name, just like the song Windy by The Association. Then Lucy meets Windy's sister Cherish, the name of another song by The Association, and also my absolute favorite song in high school. I wore out the grooves on that record! Am I correct? Is that where you got the names?
