JK
JK asked Stuart Gibbs:

Hi Stu, Do you ever use real places/brands (like a real restaurant or name of a brand)in your books and can an author write about real hotels or places?

Stuart Gibbs Occasionally I will name a real place or brand, although usually I make them up. An author is certainly allowed to write about any place they want to -- although it probably makes more sense to write about real businesses in a positive light, rather than a negative one, for fear of those businesses getting upset at you.
