Do you plot out your novel before you start writing? How much research do you do before writing?

Mary Robinette Kowal It depends on the book. I have a general outline but some areas are fuzzier than others. Glamour in Glass was outlined in great detail. Relentless Moon had big gaps in between tent posts.

I do a ton of research before writing, but most of it winds up being concurrent with the actual writing process.
