No, there is no mention (or hints) of that in the first book (or this one). In fact [spoilers for book 1 ahead!] the main character, Daisy, even asks if Miles has a crush on Seb. Any tension there might be because in the first book, Miles explains to Daisy how his family has always served and done what Seb's family wanted. So Miles feels obligated in a way. And by the end of the book, he sort of breaks away and tries to do his own thing (like going to America and not attending Seb's school). So, no, doesn't look like a romantic history.
