Don't want to write a review, but I highly recommend the book. Very compelling read, carefully researched, breaks some new ground. I have not been to Northern Ireland, only the Republic, but some of my forebears come from there and I have always been interested in the history. It can be brutal, and it's not really clear where the author is politically. Perhaps that's a good thing; he alternately sounds sympathetic to the Republicans, though never endorses their violence, while also clearly moved by the plight of the McConville family. I thought it was a terrific, important book.
