Goodreads asked Emily Thornton Calvo:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Emily Thornton Calvo Being a writer means your brain gets filled with all kinds of information that makes other people think you're really smart. I've written about healthcare, so I know the difference between an angiogram and an angioplasty. I've written about printing so I know about all sorts of post office regs. Relationships. Marketing. Business. I know just enough to be dangerous.

There's also the variety. It's not boring--unless you're sitting at your desk trying to rework a line for the 93rd time.
