Goodreads asked DM Gilmore:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

DM Gilmore Writer's Block is usually a symptom of a greater problem. In my experience, if you find yourself having difficulties writing a particular scene or chapter, that's either because you don't know your plot well enough, or because it's not an exciting portion to write.
In that first instance, I always find it best go and review your plot outline. I typically write outlines that detail the events of each chapter so that I'm always on top of my plot. Sometimes you go on plot detours, but as long as you get back to the point, your outline is your best friend.
As for that second instance, if a scene isn't exciting for you to write, you might want to try and figure out why, and look into what you can do to make it exciting!
