Joanna asked Juliet Marillier:

Thanks for that. Don't go to too much effort regarding the maps. I can manage without it if it's too much bother. The names I would like to know how to pronounce: Gabhran, Odhar, Suibne, Dubhán, Áine, Gwrad, Ludha?

Juliet Marillier Of course I ended up spending ages looking for the maps and failing to find them, even though I have the files for the Wolfskin and Foxmask maps ... That is OK, if we find them we'll put them up on the website. Names are as follows (bearing in mind that the Pictish ones are mostly informed guesswork):
Gabhran - GAV-ran
Odhar - OHR
Suibne - SIV-nyeh (depending on the spelling, sometimes pronounced Sweeny)
Dubhán - doo-ahn
Áine - AHN-yeh
Gwrad - somewhere between grad and goo-RAD (great name, might use it again!)
Ludha - LOO-da (but with a soft, European d sound, so close to LOO-tha)

Confession - when I'm reading I don't always have the correct pronunciations in mind!
