The Space Between Us references the fact that Bhima had a letter sent to Gopal informing him of Pooja's death which made Gopal upset that he wasn't informed sooner. The Secrets Between Us, on the other hand, said that Bhima tore it up because she couldn't bear to send the letter. Am I misremembering? Or did the author purposely change this detail in the second book to better fit/explain the ending?

But you are definitely remembering correctly, I remember the same.

There is just one explanation that comes to my mind. I don't remember how we learned about the letter in The Space Between Us. Was it in Bhima's inner thoughts, or did she tell this to Maya? Perhaps Bhima lied to Maya, not wanting her granddaughter to know she never informed Gopal what happened. But if it's not only in the dialogue and Bhima actually thinks about it, then this explanation doesn't work. I guess I have to go back and look it up, but this one is really bugging me. Everything else in the book is really well done, so it's hard to believe this detail is a mistake.(less)
