Often I'll get inspired to write simply by wanting to see my books written and published. I'll usually come up with the plot/subject for the book, do a rough outline and synopsis, then create the cover. I'm not one to leave things unfinished, so having the cover ready to go helps me stay motivated. Then it's "simply" a matter of writing as often as possible until the book is finished.
