A Goodreads user asked:

I struggled to focus reading this book, and thought maybe I would prefer the author's reading of the audiobook; however, the audiobook is different from the physical book! Huge chunks of text are not there, and it seems more like maybe the abridged-TED-talk version of the book. Does anyone know why this might be?

Nicole Soundstrue (the publisher of the Audiobook I've seen) writes on their website: "First published three years before the print edition of Women Who Run With the Wolves made publishing history, this original audio edition quickly became an underground bestseller..."

So the Audio came first before she wrote/published the book.
