Goodreads asked Andrew Kopecky:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Andrew Kopecky The only way to write is to do it. To write, and then go back and improve it, and then go back and improve your writing some more, and some more, and some more. yesterday I was reading over a story I am preparing to publish online. I wrote that story ten years ago. I have read over it fifty times in ten years. I thought it was perfect. But yesterday I made a few minor changes. There is always room for improvement. You just have to be patient and to trust in yourself. And you have to find the balance between accepting when a piece of writing is done, and also not being ready to accept that it is done. It's a very fine line. But good writing comes from a lot of revising.
