Looking forward to reading about Royce and Haydren next adventure(s)!

Hey thanks! I am too ;-) So here's the skinny on more Royce and Hadrian stories. I've said all along that I wanted to be careful about not letting the pair overstay their welcome. So, I'm adopting the stance of putting out some books, judging the feedback, then deciding if there should be another one.
The jury is in and there WILL be a third Riyria Chronicle. It's page is already here on goodreads (here is a link to it), so you can add it to your page and goodreads will let you know when it is published. The "date" on it currently is just a placeholder until I know more about the official date.
So what will the date be? I'm shooting for 2015. Here's the deal. I only recently announced (a few days ago) that my new series, The First Empire will be released from Random House in the summer of 2016. If that series wasn't picked up by a publisher, then Rhune (the first book in that series) would have been put out in 2015. But, since that won't happen until 2016...I need a 2015 book - and so I'm going to slate the next Royce and Hadrian book for that.
To make the 2015 date, I'll have to self-publish it...but that's okay, I've done that before so it shouldn't be a problem. To me, getting a book out in 2015 is more important than having a publisher release it.
So, there you are - a new Royce and Hadrian book coming later this year (if all goes well). I still have to finish up the last book of The First Empire, but that is going well and I'm expecting it to wrap in a few months.

Hi, Michael. I had a short backstory to this question but it would not fit, so I'll cut to the chase. What is your opinion on a business model like Kickstarter which focuses entirely on publishing? It is an idea I have nurtured for some years now and would very much like to already exist for me to browse.

Hey! First of all, I want to thank you for being so active here on Goodreads. It's so awesome being able to chat with authors on here, and too few do it. Second of all, (this question has probably been asked too many times) but do you have any other books/series in the works at the moment?

I’m not a writer, but I’m interested in the differences between inspiration and copyright in writing. For example I really love your creation of Gilarabrywn. They could be up there with other well known mythical creatures. Where did you come up for the inspiration for them? If you were told in 100 years time that Gilarabrywns were common in literature and media would you be flattered or annoyed people stole your idea?
