How do you get inspired to write?

Kaylin R. Boyd I was always making up stories in my head. I used these stories to entertain me during algebra class and study hall, but I also used them to explore and deal with life and its many complexities. I had no idea one could be an author thought until I discovered Neil Gaiman's book American Gods. When I read that novel something in my brain clicked, and I realized I could write my stories. I could be an author... and then suddenly my life made sense.
