Max Driffill
Max Driffill asked Lawrence Wright:

How does this latest book fit into the rest of your work, which focuses a great deal on the power of belief to lever action and behavior?

Lawrence Wright As a young reporter (many years ago!) I wrote about two disease outbreaks in 1976--the first was the Swine Flu episode at Fort Dix, NJ, where a young recruit, David Lewis, died of H1N1 influenza, the same strain that killed between 50-100million people in 1918. In 1976, it killed only one. Right after that there was the Legionnaires' Disease outbreak in Philadelphia. I was totally fascinated by the world of epidemiology and always wanted to get back to it.
