Pauline Haycock
Pauline Haycock asked Peter Hart:

I am researching an uncle who fought in WW1. James Langham Whitworth, 46h Div, 1/5 LEICESTERSHIRE 240186. On Page 195 of The Last Battle -you mention ''Lance Corporal Whitworth'. On 26th October 1918, at Fresnoy-le-Grand he was awarded the Croix de Guerre with Silver Star. Could Lance Corporal Whitworth and my Uncle Jim Whitworth be one in the same? Best regards, Pauline Haycock (née Whitworth)

Peter Hart Unlikely - the quote comes from Charles Hufton who was in the 1/6th Sherwood Foresters. So close by but different battalion. It is a fairly common name. Pete
