Lawrence Wright Interesting that you ask. No, at the time, I didn't have such information, but only this week Chinese studies showed a link between coronavirus cases and pollution. Increased concentrations of nitrogen dioxide (a greenhouse gas), with higher concentrations resulting in about a 20% rise in cases. So there does seem to be a strong concentration with climate change. And of course it plays a role in the novel, but I don't want to spoil it for you.

What prompted you to write fiction after so many successful non-fiction books? How is your author’s voice changed in the shift of genres? On another note, thank you for Going Clear. I used it as a textbook in a class on new religious movements.
