I loved your book "The Devil's Arithmetic" and I read it many times when I was younger and I just read "Briar Rose" and it is fantastic- do you have a personal connection to the Shoah?

Jane Yolen My family--both the Yolens and the Berlin sides and all their cousins--were out of Middle Europe well before the 1920s, almost all in the USA. As I was born in 1939, I grew up through the Holocaust time and aftermath.
