Lisa See The mysteries should be read in order: Flower Net, The Interior, and Dragon Bones. The only others that should be read in order are Shanghai Girls then the sequel Dreams of Joy. Interestingly, most people don't read any of these in order...

Most of your stories are based on real people's experiences. How did you get all the pieces of the story? Did you have to travel to the area or were you able to contact a history center?

I have enjoyed ALL of your books and anxiously wait for each new one. I think that I learned the most from "On Gold Mountain" as it educated me so much about the Chinese-American experience!! My husband grew up in LA's Chinatown in the '50's and his family had a little diner there so it is possible that our families may have known each other. Any chance of a novel about LA Chinatown?
