Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Lelita Baldock The idea for my novel Widow's Lace came to me when I was on a family trip to the Finniss River in South Australia. I remember being on the boat heading up the river, winding between the reed beds, and everything was eerily quiet; just the rustle of the reeds, the call of birds and the buzz of insects.

It felt like stepping back in time and it got me thinking about what it would be like to live out there alone, cut off from the rest of the world. And why someone would live that way - and the idea of Widow's Lace was born!
