It is not a cute, funny adventure story of a cat and his owner, but rather a mature and wise look at how a person with a sad background can live through life's tragedies and remain a happy, giving, unselfish person. Perhaps if the 12 year old is grieving, it could be a gift of healing. The cat is frosting on the cake.(less)
