Goodreads asked Ken Mora:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Ken Mora A mix of strategies: I try to get into that slow 'headspace' that dispels pressure (It's a BIG task), and once there or as close as I think I'm going to get
• OPEN THE SOFTWARE(s) and get ready to process - even if it's staring at a blank page while breathing into my anxiety
• TASK SWITCHING between outlining or jumping into a scene (COMPLETELY discarding concerns for sequence) - I follow the path of least creative resistance, or 'sketching out' ideas. Each element is it's own sloppy mess, and threading them together and worrying about the 'conective tissue' is detail work best left to the rewrite.
• SPOT REWRITING - a big no-no according to virtually every book you'll read, but for me polishing a 'completed' segment assures me that I do have the craft to tackle the stuff I'm trying to avoid.
• BREATHE - getting into a state of shallow breathing compounds the writer's block
• ACCEPT INCREMENTALITY - hey, if a journey of a thousand steps starts with the first one, the succeeding steps are no less important, every step forward is a victory and if I can just get one done in a day, then that's better than nothing
