Hi, so I'm a highschool student and this year for my NY's resolution, I decided I wanted to write a book before I graduate. I've always been skilled with words and writing in general, but I just don't know where to begin. I have so many ideas but have trouble w/ worldbuilding. Any advice?

That's an awesome goal! I love looking at paintings and photographs that capture the atmosphere I'm shooting for with each book. I try to find something that looks like the house or town where I'm setting everything and start to layer in the details. Who lives in that house? What do they do for fun? Are there festivals or special holidays that mean something important to the residents? Start with small details and suddenly a whole world can open up!

This is probably a dumb question and possibly unrelated to "A Land So Wide," but are you working on a third "House of..." book I remember reading someone that you are working on it and we can expect it in a year and it is about Lenore?! Thanks so much, I loved "The House of Salt and Sorrows" and "The House of Roots and Ruins" the twisted love was great!
