Diana Huerta asked Kathy Reichs:

I love reading books in order of publication, as there is often a story line or character development that reveals itself. Do you start books with enough of a summary to support that type of reading, or is each book a stand-alone effort, except for the known character? Also, I doubt that you have any control over this, but I love it when books are available early in the publication in audio format for us busy ladies

Kathy Reichs In some ways, it gets easier as you continue to write a series with the same core characters. You get to know your characters better. But it also gets harder because when someone picks up a Temperance Brennan book for the first time, you have to introduce the main premise and the core characters. But, on the other hand, it may be the 19th book someone’s reading, so you don’t want to bore that reader with repetitious details.
