Lili asked Kathy Reichs:

First of all I would like to thank you for your amazing work! My question is in relation to the Bones series and how you lay out the plot of the books; do you start off with an idea of a 'villain' and then create your plot around that or do you have a more structured approach to planning out a book? Cheeky second question; has your style of writing developed as you've written more?

Kathy Reichs I start of with a central idea. Usually from a case that I've worked, but sometimes an interesting news article or something I've read from a forensic journal. Then I just ask what if this...what if that... and the story comes together.
