How did you decide to end your Broken Earth trilogy in a way that kept mother and daughter from fully reconciling? I wish they had been able to talk and explain themselves to each other and understand how much they were alike! (I know that probably BECAUSE I wanted that for them, your way was the more powerful and moving ending!)

N.K. Jemisin I did it that way because mothers and daughters don't always get to reconcile, in real life.
