Most of your novels seem to be set in secondary worlds. What motivated you to move more towards intrusion fantasy with The City We Became?
N.K. Jemisin
Just felt like doing something in New York. My short fiction is more emblematic of where my tastes run, and those are all over the place -- our world, secondary worlds, weird liminal shit that doesn't have a location, whatever.
