I know you have short stories that take place in real world locations, but how did you approach building your world based in a city as iconic as New York?

N.K. Jemisin The same way I approach all worldbuilding. New York ain't special. :D (Obviously I do not believe that, or I would not have written a whole novel about it.) It pretty much comes down to empathy and research, same as writing anything, though.
