The idea for the book Heart of a slave was created from my personal research and includes factual evidence based on the Atlantic slave trade. A realistic yet controversial topic; though a relationship between master and slave is usually frowned upon. I wanted my story to sound as realistic as possible with a fictional twist. I like to think that the love story between Siwhetta and Dimitri was, in fact, alive and so, in my opinion, it was based on a true-life story.
