SA asked April Henry:

Hi April, I really enjoy all your books. I have been told its weird to read and weird to like murder mysteries books. How do you feel about that? I just tell people whatever, at least I know how to do something besides stare at a phone for 24/7. I just wanted to let you know because I have inspired about 15 different people so far to read your books. I hope you are well and healthy. Sincerely, Savanna Wright

April Henry Weird to read? No way! Reading is what made me what I am. It's made me go from a girl who grew up poor in a tiny logging town in Oregon to a NYTimes bestselling author. It showed me so many different worlds and taught me so many things.

Also there are lots of reasons to like mystery novels: high stakes, learning about police procedure, thinking about what makes people tick.

Thank you for inspiring others! And guess what? The main character in y book due out May 12, THE GIRL IN THE WHITE VAN, is named Savannah.
