Cathy
Cathy asked:

Wonder how it affected his family? Brock grew up in Oakwood, a small affluent city mostly surrounded by Dayton and Kettering Ohio. They had to move far out of town, they were so embarrassed by their son's behavior. I wonder if they changed their last name? They kept it so quiet that I didn't know it happened until I was reading a magazine in a Doctor's waiting room and his victim was telling her side of the story.

Andrea I have to say I have never wondered about this for even a second, sorry, I do not care. For his own father to state, “ 20 minutes of fun has ruined my sons life”. ( I may not have the quote exactly.. but u get where I’m coming from.
Kara I hope all his family has listened to this on audio (best to hear her tell her story, it's very powerful that way) because from what they said at the trial in their statements, they didn't think what he did was a (serious) crime. They all need to know what his crime did to her, and how white privilege gets you a ridiculously insulting & pathetic sentence.
Olivia they were not embarrassed by his behavior. His father listened to Chanel's victim impact statement and then got up and complained that it's not fair that "20 minutes of action" ruined their son's life. Chanel talks about how in that moment she realized that his family raised him in a household where he was perpetually the victim of everyone else and could never do anything wrong.
Pagan K Cathy, It's unclear why you would sympathise on THIS page. This page is about Chanel Miller's experience and about her book. It's about her incredible healing and strength to do so. Many survivors of rape don't make it. She is far more than 'his victim'.

Brock Turner's family raised a rapist. There is nothing uncertain about that. That family should be more than embarrassed. They should spend the rest of their lives making AMENDS to Chanel and HER family for the pain they caused. They didn't keep quiet. Brock Turners father was so arrogant he dismissed his son's crime, saying it was 20 minutes of fun and it ruined his life. IT SHOULD! The entitled (white, rich) privilege that man benefitted from by having a very short sentence has not served him well. He should have been incarcerated for a full sentence and so should every other rapist.
The rage I feel when reading sympathetic comments like yours is immeasurable.
Flannery Bloom who cares, they raised a r*pist
Stephanie I googled it and as of this summer he’s living with his parents in Bellbrook, OH. He’s a registered sex offender so there’s public information available.
Ashley I couldn't care less. they should be embarrassed
Petra Valjan Whatever affected them, it was not enought if you ask me.
Maddi They didn't keep it quiet. This was a HUGE case. You just weren't turned into it.
Ash Larizza why is this your question?
Shalma He goes by Allen now.
Cathy My question was not really a question. I found that I couldn't comment unless it was in the form of a question.
