As Autumn has said, the main character is a male. We understand what it is like to be a seventeen-year-old male. Quentin is depressed. Therefore, a male viewpoint with depression. I believe that Grossman intended the setting to be bleak, anyway, so it wouldn't be far shooting from the mark to say that basically every character is broken. But, I really enjoyed that. I'm probably the only person here who has answered that does. Also, if it was intended to be a mysogynistic book, there would be no female characters. (less)
