Brina The character of Dill was directly based on her childhood friend, Truman Capote. Other characters seem to be inspired by other people in her life. Her father was a lawyer, and her hometown of Monroeville is very reminiscent of Maycomb.
๓คץค- No, this book, (for the most part) is not based off a true story. Although, the Tom Robinson trial is partially based off of the trial of the Scottsboro boys from 1931. You can probably look up that trial somehow. I personally also think she probably also based the characters off of people she knew too, but I don't know for sure. :) Hope that helped!
