Grant asked Garon Whited:

Will you continue to develop Erik's character as the story progress's or is he going to become static? For example, will we ever get to see him learn to face his fears of himself head on instead of running, deflecting, repressing, or denying? Will he ever learn to be confident in his own powers and abilities?

Garon Whited There's a difference between a character being static and possessing certain qualities. It's possible he may, on occasion, face a fear directly, without deflection or denial, but, fundamentally, he's just not that sort of person.
On the other hand, there are qualities to his personality that are likely to evolve, slowly, as time goes on, yes. As far as we know, he still has a soul, which means he is capable of creativity and growth.
